Job Description
Title: Laboratory Technician
Location: Shafter, CA 93263
Shift: 7: 30am to 4pm (open to 8am to 4: 30pm)
Duration: 0-12 Month
Pay Rate: $ 22/hour (W2)
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
- Receiving and logging samples from internal customers
- Performing data entry and utilizing LIMS systems to track sample progress
- Conducting routine chemical and physical analysis under general supervision
- Performing mechanical and wet chemical testing on production fluids and solids, including sample preparation
- Assisting technical support personnel in compiling, analyzing, and interpreting results for internal and external customers
- Handling special projects as assigned
- Working with laboratory equipment including ICP, IC, XRD, XRF, and various handheld lab meters
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of advanced laboratory equipment and LIMS systems
- Ability to perform detail-oriented, mistake-free work
- Strong teamwork skills
- Degree in Chemistry or Biology with laboratory experience OR
- 1–2 years of experience working in a laboratory setting without a degree
- Dependable and punctual with a solid understanding of laboratory testing techniques
- Understanding of laboratory safety guidelines
- Experience with sample preparation and filtering
- Familiarity with hazardous waste disposal
- Ability to lift satellite waste up to approximately 30 lbs
- Computer (PC) skills
- Experience creating spreadsheets and reports
