Systems Administrator
Location: Melbourne, FL 32919
Duration: 12+ months (Possible for extension )
Pay rate range: $ 50 –$58/hr on w2 (All inclusive)
 
Job Description:
  • We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join our team. This role involves managing, optimizing, and securing our Linux infrastructure to ensure high performance and reliability. Additionally, the candidate will design, code, and test scripts to automate system management tasks, and assist in maintaining and writing content for system documentation.
  • This position may require limited travel
Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining local and remote systems
  • Install hardware, provisioning operating systems, loading software, updating network equipment, verifying data flow, troubleshooting contingencies, and coordinating system downtime with site customers and end-users.
  • Kickstarting Linux systems, applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Develop/maintain system ACLs and system security profiles.
  • Work with adjacent engineering teams and internal/external customers to translate requirements and objectives into final product designs.
  • Resolve problems using internal and external groups, as needed, to correct trouble within the environment.
  • Maintain/Support locally hosted Atlassian tool Suite
  • Ability to travel to customer locations for installations and maintenance activities
  • Ability to obtain an FAA public trust.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with RHEL servers, workstations, and virtual machines
  • Proficiency in automation tools like Bash/Expect and Ansible
  • Network administration, system maintenance, troubleshooting, configuration
  • Experience with provisioning/maintaining a Network File System (NFS)
  • Design and implement system performance and functionality improvements
  • Perform security audits, remediate system vulnerabilities
  • Proven ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities
  • Self-motivated, proactive problem-solving
  • Strong time management, attention to detail
  • Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Development, build management, automated test frameworks
  • Strong customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD for network and power diagrams
  • Familiarity with Zabbix monitoring server configuration and maintenance
  • Familiarity with Jenkins
  • Experience with OpenShift
  • Experience supporting a lab environment
  • Patience with non-technical stakeholders
  • Flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities.
