Shift Timings: First Shift, 05: 25 AM –04: 05 PM
 
Job Description:
The RS Cabinet Maker IV is responsible for fabricating complex aircraft cabinets and wood-surfaced subassemblies for installation in aircraft interiors. The role requires advanced cabinetmaking skills, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and experience producing high-quality aerospace components with minimal supervision.
The position also supports process improvements, mentors junior technicians, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and assists with project coordination within the cabinet shop.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Fabricate complex aircraft cabinets, furniture, and wood-surfaced interior components using hand and stationary woodworking tools.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and material specifications to meet design requirements.
  • Perform precision woodworking, fitting, finishing, and assembly operations.
  • Ensure aircraft interior components meet quality standards and customer-approved designs.
  • Follow safety, 5S, housekeeping, and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Support process improvement initiatives to improve safety, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
  • Track materials, parts requirements, work orders, and production status using company systems.
  • Mentor and train lower-level technicians.
  • Accept lead responsibilities when required and coordinate assigned projects.
  • Perform safety audits and maintain shop equipment.
  • Work with other departments/back shops to support production requirements.
 
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 4 years of cabinetmaking experience.
  • Strong aircraft cabinetmaking experience with ability to work independently.
  • Advanced knowledge of woodworking processes and techniques.
  • Experience using woodworking tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work in aircraft interiors, confined spaces, and elevated areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with aircraft interiors/completions.
  • Knowledge of Gulfstream inspection standards and processes.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma practices.
