Python Data Engineer
Job Description
Experience Level: Level 2 (intermediate): 2-5 years
Location: Montreal (Day 1 onboarding onsite / in office presence 3x week)
Python engineer to work on a new requirement for database infrastructure maintenance and development. The role will require a self-sufficient individual, capable of working in a complex environment building new functionality and maintaining existing infrastructure required to support the environment.
Responsibilities
- The role will be for a database infrastructure developer / engineer. The candidate will be working on various database related infrastructure / automation projects that will require the development or maintenance of modules/scripts using python and ksh.
- The candidate will be responsible for development unit level testing and integration testing. Client is looking for a result driven individual who is able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- The candidate should have a strong track record of delivering projects on time.
Skills Required
- 2-5 years of experience
- Understanding scripting is a core requirement.
- Strong Python scripting
- Experience of revision control systems.
- Strong Unix shell scripting (in particular Korn Shell)
- Good database knowledge
- Knowledge of Perl is a plus
