Job Description

Location Address: if in GTA, expected to come in to office a few times a week, though they are open candidates located anywhere in Canada (not limited to Toronto), provided they meet the criteria and can work within EST time/zones and stakeholder environment
Subject to change: 3–4 days onsite may be required based on business needs
Contract Duration: ASAP to Oct 30th.
Good possibility of extension for a 1 year total contract (pending additional funding to become available
Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday;standard 37.5 hrs/week

Story Behind the Need
Business group: Information Security & Control (IS&C)’s –Application Security is responsible to improve security practices and, through that, to find and preferably preventing security issues within applications.
Business group: IB (International Banking) Retail Regional Services –IB retail transformation office, manager, full investment portfolio for IB retail,
Project: IB Retail Portfolio Initiatives –moving from portfolio management focus to project management focus so need a PM to assist in managing the high-priority projects in the portfolio;the project being assigned to the PM is in the planning phase, plan is for it to go for 1 year
Project: IB Retail Portfolio Initiatives –Digital and technology transformation.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 10 years of experience managing business-driven technology projects in banking or financial services.
2) Proven track record in digital transformation and strategic initiatives.
3) Strong command of project management methodologies (Scrum, PMI).
4) Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, and Power BI.
5) Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders across regions.

Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) Experience working in regional or multi-country project environments.
2) Familiarity with core banking systems or digital channels (e.G., mobile/web banking).
3) PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials.
4) Scrum Master certification (e.G., CSM, PSM) demonstrating agile delivery experience.

•Leadership and influence across technical and non-technical teams.
•Problem-solving mindset with adaptability in dynamic environments.
•Strategic thinking and ability to align project goals with business outcomes.
•High emotional intelligence and team collaboration.

Education & Certificates:
•Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Technology, or related fields.
•Master’s degree in project management, Business, or Digital Transformation (preferred).
•Certifications (preferred): PMP, Scrum Master (e.G., CSM, PSM), or equivalent project management credentials.

Best VS. Average Candidate:
•Best candidate: Has led complex, multi-stakeholder digital transformation projects in banking, communicates effectively with senior leadership, and demonstrates both strategic vision and operational execution. The manager is looking for someone who can bridge both worlds, someone who understands technology well enough to speak with technical teams, but also grasps business needs and can translate between the two.
•Average candidate: Has experience in project coordination or support roles, with limited exposure to executive stakeholders or regional delivery.

Candidate Review & Selection
2 rounds –MS Teams Video interview
1st with HM and PM on the team –30 minutes –probing on experience, education, situational questions
2nd with functional manager and Director –45 mins to 1 hour- –probing on experience, education, situational questions
