Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Electronics Repair Technician to perform depot-level, component-level repair of military avionics displays and control units for platforms including C-130J, F-35, Apache, and Blackhawk. This hands-on bench position requires the ability to troubleshoot circuit card assemblies down to individual components using schematics, test equipment, and diagnostic procedures. You will use oscilloscopes, freeze spray, and multimeters to identify and replace defective resistors, capacitors, ICs, and other components on complex multi-layer PCBs. This is NOT an IT or computer support role - we need technicians with electronics repair experience who are comfortable with a soldering iron and reading circuit diagrams.
Key Responsibility Statements:
•Perform component-level diagnosis and repair of CCAs (Circuit Card Assemblies) using schematics, test procedures, and diagnostic equipment
•Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, and spectrum analyzers to isolate faults to specific components
•Read and interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
•Perform continuity checks, voltage measurements, and signal tracing on populated circuit boards
•Identify defective resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, ICs, and connectors
•Document repairs using depot-level maintenance procedures
•Work at an electronics repair bench with ESD controls
Required Skills Section:
Required:
•Ability to read electronic schematics and circuit diagrams
•Experience with bench test equipment: oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, signal generators
•Component identification and replacement skills
•Understanding of analog and digital circuit theory
•Experience with printed circuit board repair
Preferred:
•Military avionics maintenance background (2M, AT, AE, 94F MOS)
•Experience with military displays (AMLCD, CRT, LED)
•Security clearance (active or ability to obtain)
Equipment/Environment Description:
You will work at an electronics repair bench in a temperature-controlled environment using:
•Hot air rework equipment
•Stereo microscopes
•Oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
•In-circuit testers
•X-ray inspection equipment
•ESD-safe workstations
