Job Description
Role Engineering Assistant Location Birmingham, AL 35242 Pay Range $53.57/Hr. On W2 (Without Benefits) Duration 12 months (contract to hire)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Desired Qualifications
- 10–15 years of experience as an Engineering Assistant or similar role
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred)
- Experience supporting engineering management teams
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating, organizing, and maintaining project documentation (plans, schedules, budgets, reports)
- Ensure all engineering documents are accurate, updated, and easily accessible
- Support communication between project teams, stakeholders, and contractors
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and status updates
- Schedule meetings, site visits, and project-related events
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project milestones
- Assist in monitoring project budgets and expenses
- Support preparation of financial reports and forecasts
- Collect and analyze project data to identify trends and improvement areas
- Prepare summary reports with insights and recommendations
Required Skills & Expertise
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with project management tools/software
- Knowledge of data analysis tools
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities
- Basic understanding of engineering processes and activities
- Ability to build relationships with plant staff, engineering teams, and vendors
