Business Analyst - Senior
Job Description
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Onsite 5 days/week) Office: 222 Jarvis St., Toronto, ON
Duration: 254 Business Days (with possible extension)
Job Description:
Must Have:
- Experience leading and conducting business analysis for business projects to assess clients' business problems or opportunities and document technical business requirements
- Experience developing context diagrams, use cases and use case models
- Experience developing process maps, stakeholder maps and assessments
- Experience creating systems diagrams
- Experience writing business cases and conducting options analysis
- Provide comprehensive I&IT business analysis services for diverse business needs
- Interact with stakeholders and SMEs to gather, document, and analyze requirements
- Develop and advise on business analysis policies, processes, and best practices
- Lead and conduct business analysis to assess problems and opportunities
- Apply re-engineering concepts for business improvements
- Align analysis with OPS methodologies and enterprise architecture
- Develop business cases, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analysis
- Conduct requirements gathering (JAD sessions, interviews, mockups)
- Perform business modeling, use case modeling, and data modeling
- Monitor progress and report to stakeholders
- Develop performance measures and traceability matrices
- Experience with CASE tools and documentation practices
- Awareness of emerging I&IT trends and technologies
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Business Analysis and Technical Skills 35%
- Experience leading business analysis initiatives
- Experience developing context diagrams, process maps, and stakeholder assessments
- Experience writing business cases and feasibility studies
- Experience developing functional and non-functional requirements
- Experience facilitating workshops and requirements sessions
- Experience with user stories and use cases
- Experience developing performance measures
- Experience on medium-sized projects as Business Analyst or Functional Consultant
- Experience with enterprise architecture concepts aligned with OPS standards
- Experience with SDLC, system design, development, and integration
- Experience with database concepts, UI design, QA, risk management
- Experience conducting business analysis reviews and recommendations
- Experience providing technical leadership and advisory support
- Experience in service delivery, program/project management
- Knowledge of I&IT policies, trends, and technologies
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to various audiences
- Experience with information retrieval tools
- Knowledge of Information Management principles
- Ability to translate business/data requirements into technical specifications
- Experience with business modeling and process mapping tools
- Experience with structured, object-oriented, and Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of AODA standards and accessibility requirements
